It's just (shy of) three months into 2014 and Atlanta's dining scene has already racked up a bunch of accolades. Here's a recap of our first-quarter award winners and nominees, thus far:
Last month, the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) announced the 2014 IACP Award Finalists. Summerland, chef Anne Quatrano's first cookbook, was selected in the Global Design cookbook category. "The Alton Browncast," podcast of fellow Georgian and food personality Alton Brown, is up for consideration in the Culinary Audio Series category.
Speaking of Quatrano, her flagship Bacchanalia was the only Atlanta eatery to earn a place among the Daily Meal's 101 Best Restaurants in America in 2014. It came in at number 87.
GQ's 25 Best New Restaurants in America, 2014 included three ATL restaurants: the General Muir (19), Gunshow (7), and King + Duke (5).
Octane Coffee was among 12 national winners to earn the "Best Brew" distinction from KRUPS. The other Atlanta nominees were Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters, Dancing Goats, Café Intermezzo, Condesa Coffee, and Land of a Thousand Hills.
Annnnd last, but certainly not least, here are Atlanta's 2014 James Beard Foundation Award semifinalists:
