The fourth annual celebration of Georgia’s quintessential fruit is back from June 25 to 29. The festivities will be held at four area farmers markets over the span of four days, giving peach lovers multiple opportunities to participate in the festivities. Peach activities kick off Wednesday at the Decatur Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m. with the second annual peach BBQ sauce competition. Sauces will be served with local pork shoulder and grilled vegetables, peach tea and more.

On Thursday, East Atlanta Farmer’s Market will hold a cocktail competition from 5:30-7 p.m. where attendees may sample a variety of peach cocktails and dine on peach recipe-stimulated dinners.

Festivities continue Saturday at the Decatur Farmer’s Market from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. with the first-ever peach jam and jelly competition. Peach Jammers are invited to sample peach preserves, jams, and jellies on locally sourced biscuits and peach beer, tea, and lemonade will be served as well.

Festivities draw to a close Sunday at the Grant Park Farmers Market from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with a cobbler competition and a celebration of all things peachy. Sponsors and judges to look for throughout these four days include Terrapin Beer, Farm Burger, Ratio Bakeshop, and more. Look out for Grant Park vendors, because they’ll be carrying special peach products.

Proceeds benefit Community Farmers Markets educational programs and participating farmers market double SNAP programs. To sign up for a competition and more general info., www.farmatl.org.
