Wrecking Bar Brewpub’s (292 Moreland Ave.) owner, Bob Sandage, is eyeing the far-out town of Loganville, Ga., located 36 miles northeast of Atlanta, as the site of his own Georgia brewery. The land in question, currently occupied by Dillwood Farms at 4000 Brushy Fork Road, will reportedly supply ingredients to the homegrown concept. Details as they arise.

In case you missed it, new Buckhead Atlanta eatery Doraku Sushi opened for business earlier this month. With locations in Hawaii and Florida, the Japanese restaurant offers sushi and dishes like miso teriyaki sea bass, pan-seared sesame-citrus tuna, and crispy bok choy. A wide selection of sake, simple desserts, and a variety of takeout options are also up for grabs.

In related news, the second U.S. outpost of LDV Hospitality eatery Dolce Italian is slated to open at Buckhead Atlanta sometime “this year.” The restaurant serves modernized renditions of traditional pastas, Neapolitan pizza, seasonal salads, veal Milanese, and more. Equally classic-with-a-twist beverages include the Aperol spritz and barrel-aged negroni cocktail. Additionally, Dolce will be featured on the series premiere of Bravo’s “Best New Restaurant” television series on Jan. 21 at 10 p.m. Details as they arise.

Bocado owner Brian Lewis and crew plan to open new concept Amer at Inman Quarter in March. The cocktail bar will be helmed by Bocado veteran David Durnell, and will focus primarily on concoctions made with bitters and Italian amari. The owners are targeting the aperitif and nightcap demographic with the palate-tingling tinctures.

Athens-based Jittery Joe’s opened in the lobby of the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta downtown. The brews are made with beans sourced from more than 18 separate countries, resulting in a vast variety, and the eats include pastries from 181 Sweets. With 14 Georgia locations, the cafe is known for offering beverages unique to each market.

The quick-from-the-coast importers behind Off the Dock seafood pulled their plans to open at Krog Street Market. The seafood market and raw bar concept was reportedly killed due to internal disagreements with the ownership regarding the venture. The management at Krog Street Market still plans to fill the space wisely, with a possible green grocer as a foil to the meat-heavy Spotted Trotter offerings. Whispers of a forthcoming pizzeria also abound (Varuni Napoli and Fritti are both possibilities). Details as they arise.

Oak steak house sister restaurant Colletta is slated to open next door to the Avalon establishment Thurs., Feb. 5. Offering Neapolitan-Style pizza and pasta, the restaurant will be a close cousin to Indaco, another eatery in the Charleston restaurant group at which Michael Perez is executive chef; he’ll bring nearly half of his recipes to this new eatery. Alpharetta diners, however, should expect food with more of a Northern Italian influence, in contrast to the Sicilian more popular for Indaco’s coastal environs.

Max’s Wine Dive in Midtown is now open for lunch. Dishes by executive chef Patric Bell-Good include a lobster Cobb salad, barbecue chicken empanadas, and Brunswick stew with house-smoked pork, beef, chicken, and cornbread.

Sandy Springs’ iconic Punchline Comedy Club is moving after 33 years at 280 Hilderbrand Drive, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. Co-owner Jamie Bendall has not yet revealed the location of his club’s new home, which is rumored to deliver even more perks than the tried-and-true stage that has hosted the likes of Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Dave Chappelle, and Jeff Foxworthy over the decades. Pop-up shows will reportedly continue through summer as plans for a new headquarters are finalized.
