Chef Paul Albrecht, co-founder of Buckhead Life and the legendary Pano’s and Paul’s, <a href=”http://atlanta.eater.com/2015/1/30/7953743/randy-lewis-out-at-southern-proper-chef-paul-albrecht-retiring” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>is retiring after serving Atlanta for over thirty years. It’s safe to say that Buckhead Life restaurant group has had a large impact on the Atlanta food scene by offering many current executive chefs some of their first true experiences on the line. His two restaurants, Paul’s Restaurant and Social Vinings, are now up for sale.

Chef David Sweeney, former chef of the Bakery at Cakes and Ale, Restaurant Eugene, and Dynamic Dish is launching a vegan pop-up at Sound Table every Wednesday for the month of February. Chef Sweeney <a href=”http://atlanta.eater.com/2015/2/3/7972733/david-sweeney-pop-up-menu-the-sound-table-vegan-wednesdays” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>shared his menu earlier this week with items featuring raw kale chips with guacamole, cauliflower bistecca with apricot and tumeric chutney, and some paleo and gluten free options.

Castleberry Hill’s the Boxcar Grocer, which focuses on natural and organic foods, <a href=”http://www.whatnowatlanta.com/2015/01/30/the-boxcar-grocer-closes-to-focus-on-expansion-strategy/” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>has shuttered after three years. The owner stated they are taking time to expand their business with plans to open two new Atlanta locations by summer 2015.

Sean’s Harvest Market in Amsterdam Walk<a href=”http://atlanta.eater.com/2015/2/3/7970115/seans-harvest-market-midtown-taven-pointe-in-lpc-space” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”> is opening a second location at the recently shuttered Joli Kobe located in Midtown at 1545 Peachtree Street. The new location is adding more space to provide traditional inside seating rather than its original walk-up counter service and outdoor seating, and still focusing on sandwiches and soups. The market aspect will provide baked goods, produce, Poncey-Highland’s Dirty Nekkid coffee, meats, and cheeses.

Chef Randy Lewis, who was running two of Southern Proper Hospitality’s restaurants Gypsy Kitchen and the Southern Gentleman, <a href=”http://atlanta.eater.com/2015/1/30/7953743/randy-lewis-out-at-southern-proper-chef-paul-albrecht-retiring” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>has left his post after a few short months. Southern Proper stated that it is still conducting a national search and will make an announcement once a replacement is found.

The owners of Cypress Street Pint and Plate <a href=”http://www.whatnowatlanta.com/2015/02/04/cypress-street-team-to-open-restaurant-in-invesco-building/” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>submitted a building permit application for the vacant space in Midtown’s Invesco building, which recently held LPC (better known as its previous name La Pietra Cucina). After that, we only know that the restaurant is called Tavern Pointe.

Kaleidoscope Bistro and Pub <a href=”http://www.tonetoatl.com/2015/02/bits-bites.html#more” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>has plans to expand its bar by utilizing the vacant space next door, which recently held the frozen yogurt joint Yoforia.

O-Ku and Tom and Chee are two newly revealed restaurant concepts slated to open in the Westside Ironworks project mid 2015. O-Ku is hoping to <a href=”http://www.tonetoatl.com/2015/02/indigo-sees-green-in-atlanta-with-plans.html#more” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>offer a traditional Asian concept from Indigo Road Hospitality based out of Charleston, South Carolina. Indigo Road Hospitality is also responsible for Oak Steakhouse at Alpharetta’s Avalon. <a href=”http://www.tonetoatl.com/2015/02/tom-chee-secures-home-run-location-on.html” target=”_blank” ” target=”blank”>Tom and Chee, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, offers grilled cheese and different soups. This will be the fourth location in Georgia by the end of 2015.
