Omnivore - Good Food Truck and Mother partner for pop-up series

Momma likes a good Poodle

Good Food Truck owner Jessamine Starr, and Mother are teaming up for a pop-up series every Sunday and Monday night for the month of March. The Old Fourth Ward haunt will ditch its usual dinner menu in favor of the Good Food Truck’s signature comfort-food-meets-international-cuisine combo.

Menu highlights from CL’s 2011 Best Food Truck winner include a waffle dressed like Korean bi bim bap with garlicky spinach, bean sprouts, kimchi, a sunny-side-up egg, chili date sauce, and pickled carrots and a riff on mango sticky rice: a crispy rice and red bean waffle topped with sweet-salty coconut cream fresh mango.

In addition to its regular booze offerings, Mother is adding a few special cocktails that should pair nicely with the pop-up dishes. Try the Bombay the Hard Way, a White Russian twist with coconut milk and cardamom notes, alongside Starr’s exotic curry cornmeal hoe cake topped with mango beet salad, fresh buttermilk cheese, and tamarind spiced honey.

Long story short; your Sunday/Monday dinner prospects for the month just got a little better.

Mother and Good Food Truck’s Pop-Up Series. Runs through March. Sun., 6-11 p.m.; Mon., 7 p.m.-midnight. Mother, 447 Edgewood Ave. S.E. 404-524-4605. www.mother447.com.
