The Westin Buckhead’s well-reviewed but quite dated restaurant, the Palm (3391 Peachtree St.), is reportedly undergoing a nearly $500,000 makeover. The American steakhouse, which has operated since 1926, filed plans with the city earlier this month. Stay tuned for updates and the Palm’s relaunch timeline.
In case you missed it, Kale Me Crazy recently launched its Decatur location at 358 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. The popular source of smoothies, cold-pressed juices, juice shots, and coffee, plus eats like salads, wraps, and acai bowls, is also planning outposts in Midtown, Sandy Springs, and Brookhaven. (The first location was opened by the founder of Yogli Mogli, Ron Shlomo, in Inman Park in summer 2013.)
Leon’s Full Service alum Patrick Dunn and Shorty’s Pizza alum Brian Hogan plan to open Pea Ridge Kitchen and Bar at 2607 Lawrenceville Hwy. in Decatur later this month. Diners can expect approachable cuisine (think mussels, beet salad, and roasted shaved lamb) made from locally sourced ingredients, plus specialty cocktails and craft beers.
