Valenza Restaurant Sat., June 13, 12-3 p.m. Big Green Egg Cooking Class The second annual Big Green Egg Cooking Class will be hosted by Chef Matt Swickerath of Valenza and Chef Stephan Herman of HAVEN. Students will prepare a menu of smoked foods, and Big Green Egg Expert Bruce Bohannon will provide tips for how to use and clean a Big Green Egg. Tickets include lunch. Reservations are required. Brook Run Park Sat., June 13, 2-6 p.m. Tap Into Georgia Beer Festival Come check out craft beers from more than 20 Georgia breweries at the only festival featuring exclusively Georgian beer. Brookhaven MARTA Station Sat., June 13, 3-8 p.m. Brookhaven Beer Festival Why go to the beach when there’s a festival behind the Brookhaven Marta station? Kicking of the summer right, spiral entertainment presents the return of the fifth annual Brookhaven Beer Festival. This year there more beer, more food and more entertainment. Sample over 150 different types of beer and visit the wine tasting tents. Sailing to Denver and Ocean Street perform live throughout the day. Only thing left to decide is: Lagers or Ales? Details.

The Optimist’s Adam Evans, Bocado’s Adam Waller, Little Tart Bakeshop’s Sarah O’Brien, Saltyard’s Nick Leahy, and more will create family-style dishes using local ingredients from the market’s farmers and vendors.
