? RIP. Sasha Petraske, the New York-based international cocktail guru (Milk & Honey), passed away last week at the age of 42. Petraske was the consultant the W Downtown’s cocktail lounge, Drinkshop.

? On Sept. 3, Andy Tran, executive sous chef at Lusca, will launch a Thursday night ramen pop-up called Ramen Crush A.T.L. at Ration & Dram (130 Arizona Ave.). The menu, ranging from $6 to $12, will feature two ramen bowls – one of which will be vegetarian – plus a selection of small plates. In addition to its regular full bar, the Eastside hotspot will be doing a special cocktail menu designed to pair well with the ramen.

?Fifteen local artists will debut their creative takes on alter egos at Second Self Beer Company’s brewery and tasting (1311 Logan Cir NW) this Saturday, Aug. 29, from 7-10 p.m. A limited edition ALTER EGO souvenir glass and secret, special cask have been created for opening night by artist Keith P. Rein and Second Self’s Cofounder Jason Santamaria. Second Self’s latest brew, the Double IPA, will be on tap.

? Brian Jones, the chef du cuisine at Restaurant Eugene, has been promoted to executive chef. He is replacing owner and James Beard award winner Linton Hopkins, who is stepping back to focus on his Resurgens Hospitality Group, according to Eater Atlanta.

? Another downtown café is brewing. Café Lucia, a cool downtown coffee spot featuring iced cappuccino and hot peanut brandy(!), has opened at 57 Forsyth Street.

? King of Pops, Atlanta’s favorite mobile frozen delights purveyor, has announced that they are opening a brick and mortar store in Ponce City Market next month. According to the announcement, the newest location “will have more than just pops.” In fact, the petite space, officially called King of Pops Bar & Good Grub, will offer a limited food menu and cocktails to go along with the popsicles, including popsicles IN the cocktails. The regular popsicles will be served with a variety of toppings, like different kinds of chocolate.
