Ramen pop-up, Ford Fry and Shake Shack team up for special burger, and more


?Tomorrow, Thurs., Sept. 3, Lusca executive sous chef Andy Tran will launch a Thursday night ramen pop-up called Ramen Crush A.T.L. at Ration and Dram (130 Arizona Ave.). The menu, ranging from $6 to $12, will feature two ramen bowls – one of which will be vegetarian – plus a selection of small plates. In addition to its regular full bar, the Eastside hotspot will be doing a special cocktail menu designed to pair well with the ramen.

?In a culinary convergence of cosmic proportions, Atlanta restaurateur Ford Fry and Shake Shack culinary director Mark Rosati have hooked up to create a one-day-only burger special at the Shake Shack in Buckhead on Sat., Sept. 19. Shake Shack reached out to Fry to execute this project because of their high regard for his “flair for soulful, downright delicious cooking.” Stay tuned for details.

?Krog Bar, chef Kevin Rathbun’s neighborhood wine bar and a Krog Street pioneer, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with food, fun, music, paella, a roasted pig, beer, wine, and drinks on Sun., Oct. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m.

?Save the date for Sunday Supper South on Sun., Nov. 1. The sixth edition of the James Beard Foundation fundraiser will have a new home in Ponce City Market but will continue its tradition of inviting a distinguished group of James Beard award-winning chefs, nominees, and semi-finalists from across the South. This year’s theme pays homage to Tim Burton’s spooky classic Beetlejuice.
