Gunshow’s “Hired Guns” series continues with badass chef de cuisine Brian Baxter of HUSK in Nashville, Tennessee, who will grace the Atlanta restaurant’s kitchen on Sun., May 22 and Mon., May 23. Chefs Kevin Gillespie and Joey Ward will cook alongside Baxter both nights.

The renovation of Manuel’s Tavern is slated to be complete this summer by Fri., July 22. The new space will have retail area outdoor seating areas.

The teams at Hop City and The Spotted Trotter are partnering to develop Avalon’s first beer garden, slated for Phase II of the Alpharetta mixed-use development. The beer garden, set to open next spring, will have food and beverage offerings curated by Kevin Ouzts, Kraig Torres, and the crews at their respective establishments.

Community Farmers Markets will release their first seasonal cookbook tomorrow, Wed., May 4, at Cover Books in Marietta from 6 to 8 p.m. The cookbook will feature recipes from CFM’s farmers, chef, vendors, and supporters.

The owners of Marietta’s Stockyard Burgers & Bones have leased the former Noche space in Vinings with plans to open a second location. The Vinings location will be similar to the Marietta Square location and may also have a more localized menu, according to Tomorrow’s News Today.

A husband and wife team, Paul Allen and Betsey Dahlberg, is planning to open Gwinnett County’s first distillery, Hope Springs Distillery (4839 Railroad Ave.), in Lilburn this summer, the AJC reports. The pair, veteran wine, beer, and mead makers, will start out distilling vodka then venture into gins, bitters, amaros, and bourbon.
