Long before we hatched PopSmart, we in the A&E section have been tinkering a lot of with our online presentation of film coverage. Maybe youâve noticed in our podcasts, maybe in our online-only reviews â most of which weâll toss onto the PopSmart blog, just to remind you how cool we are.
Weâre still tinkering with our online content, but heading into the weekend I wanted to make sure our readers understood one feature in particular: Hyperlinks. I know most Web-savvy folks get the whole hyperlink thing, but I just wanted to make sure you knew that when movie titles are highlighted â whether in reviews or our Film Clips listings â that offers a hyperlink to previous reviews. I think thatâs particularly useful in our Film Clips listings; you can read the brief summarized review there, but when you click on a movie title (if itâs highlighted), you can go to the criticâs original review. We hope itâll give you more information more quickly to help you think and decide about which movie to check out this weekend (or anytime, for that matter).
Weâre going to get a little head start on next weekâs print edition and place review blurbs online for the bazillion movies opening next Wednesday (Thanksgiving weekend, dontcha know). So keep an eye out for reviews of the new Bob Dylan spectacular Iâm Not There (pictured), the latest Frank Darabont/Stephen King collaboration The Mist, and the new indie featuring Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh, Margot at the Wedding. And online youâll find an essay on all these rock movies that have come out this year (particularly the last month or so).
Just a little house cleaning before checking out the movies.
