Itâs always exciting to seem some promising work from a brand-spanking-new Atlanta artist come down the pike. The invite for a Georgia State University thesis show of prints and drawings by Joe Tsambiras elicited that butterfly feeling. Joeâs images have the ragged, underground feel of graphic novels and zines but with a spirit of gentle observation and consideration for the wispy, fragile side of peopleâs lives and the difficulties of love and work more Daniel Clowes than R. Crumb. The show is only up from Nov. 26-30 at the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design Gallery (I welcome nicknames for this gallery beyond the acronym EGWSADG), so better get it while itâs hot. 10 Peachtree Center Ave. 404-413-5230. Mon.-Fri. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
