Perhaps no film has been less accurately titled than Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Dating to 1984, this was the fourth installment of the slasher film epic about hockey-masked Jason Voorhees, but the name âThe Final Chapterâ was premature to say the least. Seven Friday the 13th movies have followed, with such subtitles as A New Beginning, Jason Lives and The New Blood. And a remake of the original is supposedly in the works for 2009.
Personally, my only fond memories of the franchise come from seeing Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3-D at Tower Place, which now houses the Buckhead Backlot movie theater. Nevertheless, when the monthly Splatter Cinema series shows The Final Chapter tonight, Dec. 11, at 9:30, at the Plaza Theatre, it could be a ripping good time with a bunch of friends. Hereâs the original trailer of the film that the YouTube page calls "Firday" the 13th Part 4:
