"The highway signs pointed to our happiness; the greasy spoons and gleaming truck stops/were the stations of our pilgrimage." Now, this is a guy we can hang with! Poet EDWARD HIRSCH gets personal in his seventh and most recent collection, Special Orders, in which the National Book Critics Circle Award and MacArthur Fellowship winner rides a roller coaster of the best and worst that life has to offer. How could you not read a poem called "I Wish I Could Paint You"? He visits Georgia State University Mon., MARCH 17. Free. 2:30 p.m. Troy Moore Library, General Classroom Building, ninth floor. 38 Peachtree Center Ave. 404-413-5833. www.gsu.edu.
