The local chapter of an Asian activist group called HWPL is holding a live mural painting event this weekend on Atlanta’s BeltLine for victims and refugees of the Ukrainian conflict. The Paint & Donate for Peace fundraiser takes place at Freedom Parkway on the Eastside Trail starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, and the public is invited to participate.

Officials of HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) said in a statement that all donations accrued will be given to refugee organizations around Atlanta. HWPL recently built a soccer field in Clarkston for the refugee community and has struck a deal with the Da Vinci International School in Buckhead to implement “the 12 lessons of peace” into its curriculum. gofundme.com
