From the venue:

Atlanta physician and medical historian Martin Moran signs copies of his newly released book, Atlanta’s Living Legacy: A History of Grady Memorial Hospital and Its People, at Manuel’s Tavern on Thursday, January 10. He explores Grady’s history and its meaning for Atlanta in the context of changing patterns of medical practice and education, battles over desegregation, and persistent money woes. Grady’s role as a public hospital, relations with Emory and Morehouse, response to disasters like the Fats Hardy moonshine mass poisoning, and creation of outstanding centers for burns, diabetes, and HIV are only part of this richly illustrated history.
