Death Becomes Her, Fox Theatre — This newish musical comedy is based on the 1992 hit movie directed by Robert Zemeckis, notable for its early use of CGI. It enabled Meryl Streep’s head to shift backwards and for Goldie Hawn to withstand a cavernous gap through the middle of her anatomy. Effects of a different sort are on tap for the stage version, now starting a national tour after a successful Broadway run. The story concerns two women desperate to find the fountain of youth, and everything that goes wrong once they do. A magic potion is involved, administered by a third party with her own agenda. It’s nicely summed up by the tagline “Life’s a bitch and then you die. Or not!” — Kevin C. Madigan
From the venue:
Madeline Ashton is the most beautiful actress (just ask her) ever to grace the stage and screen. Helen Sharp is the long-suffering author (just ask her) who lives in her shadow. They have always been the best of frenemies…until Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé away. As Helen plots revenge and Madeline clings to her rapidly fading star, their world is suddenly turned upside down by Viola Van Horn, a mysterious woman with a secret that’s to die for.Death Becomes Her by Broadway in Atlanta | 11/19/2026 7:30 PM
