The Arcadian Wild at Center Stage Theater
CRITIC’S PICK
Thurs., Nov. 5
Arcadian Wild, Center Stage — This Nashville-based acoustic combo, which seems to have been trimmed down to a trio, has weathered some personnel changes since their 2013 formation. But they have stayed focused on traditional folk/bluegrass and rootsy sounds with floating melodies and organic harmonies. Singer/fiddler Bailey Warren, a relatively new member, is stunning on songs from the new album, Make It Out Alive. Headlining this larger venue indicates that their music connects with a wider audience as they continue adding subtle contemporary flourishes to classic folk. — Hal Horowitz
From the venue:
The Arcadian Wild
As The Arcadian Wild, bandmates Isaac Horn (guitar), Lincoln Mick (mandolin), and Bailey Warren (fiddle) confidently inhabits and explores an intersection of genre, blending the traditional with the contemporary in order to create a unique acoustic sound that is simultaneously unified and diverse. With one foot planted firmly in choral and formal vocal music, and the other in progressive folk and bluegrass, the band offers up songs of invitation: calls to come and see, to find refuge and rest, or to journey and wonder.
