CRITIC’S PICK
Sat., Nov. 14
American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, Rialto Center for Arts — This ensemble, an offshoot of American Ballet Theatre, features up-and-coming dancers from around the world performing classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works as an apprenticeship of sorts; the goal for each member is to eventually join a leading company as a professional. In the meantime, the dancers, who are usually between 17 and 20 years of age, are housed in a Manhattan dormitory under the auspices of the ABT and receive a regular stipend but no salary. The Rialto program includes selections choreographed by George Balanchine, Brady Farrar, Maruis Petipa, and Alexei Ratmansky. — Kevin C. Madigan
