Owners and staff of several College Park restaurants on Main Street are taking stock of damage caused by random vandalism over the weekend. Hattie Marie’s, Virgil’s Gullah Kitchen, Noodle and an adjacent coffee shop all were struck in the early hours of Sunday morning by a man dressed in black shown on surveillance video hurling chairs through shop front windows and then strolling away.

Hattie Marie’s co-owner Willie Griggie told WSB-TV his regulars have been extremely supportive. “Customers are offering to pay for the damages,” he said. His BBQ joint was a frontrunner in helping to revitalize the district in 2017, ushering in several new businesses that now occupy the thoroughfare. Details: wsbtv.com
